Hannah Grace Abbott

Age 26
Birthday: April 13, 1980
Family Background: The younger of two, Hannah grew up in Surrey, just outside of London. Her father, Robert, was a muggle accountant and her mother, Bethany, a pureblood, stayed at home. They had met through Hannah's paternal aunt, who had gone to Hogwarts with Bethany. Late into her sixth year, Death Eaters killed her mother. Soon after, her father died in an automobile accident. The only family that remains is an older brother, Chris and his daughter, Maggie.
House: Hufflepuff
Bloodline: Halfblood. Her mother was killed because she married a muggle. It damn well does not matter.
Political Views: Though she's left her fighting days (at least with humans, acrylic and ugly wool are a different story) behind her, she thinks Harry Potter is pretty damn great.

Visual Representation: Ramola Garai
Description: Curvy and slightly boobalicious, Hannah's hips and butt are too big, but she's never really let herself complain about it. (After all, her two closest friends from school were boys, they hardly cared.) She's still blonde (though she's thought of dying it to stop all the jokes) and long, though she rarely wears it in pigtails anymore (thank you, teasing). Although she's always trying to lose that last five pounds, she's not trying very hard.

Psychology and Personality
Sexuality: Those with the male dangly bits. Preferably tall, dark, and handsome, but she won't be too picky in that regard.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Hannah is friendly and warm, making friends easily. And once you're her friend, you're her friend for life because she is extremely loyal. She likes to help people and be a problem solver, whether it be figuring out your knitting pattern or where to bury the body of your ex-boyfriend. She is a little naive however, as many saw in her years at Hogwarts, but that was mostly washed away after her parents' deaths. And she can never say no to a piece of chocolate.
Habits\Quirks: Hannah has been known to use her wand to hold stitches. She's also a ridiculous lightweight, leaving Justin and Ernie to their pub nights. She still likes to wear her hair in pigtails, even though she still gets teased endlessly for it. She's bright and cheerful, except for when she first wakes up, then one ought to watch out for a hex or two. She eats her Bertie's Botts Beans and other similarly colored candies in the order of the rainbow (ROY G. BIV). She does not eat crusts of any sort.
Likes\Dislikes: In case it wasn't apparent, she loves wool and knitting. Honestly, anyone who raises an eyebrow at her craft can just stick it until they've worn hand-knitted socks or have had cashmere draped across their body. She also likes strawberry daiquiris, pizza with extra cheese, Hufflepuff Pride, and a good book. She dislikes acrylic wool, the color puce, talking about her Transfiguration OWL, and fish.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time:

Birth to Hogwarts

Hannah is half-blood witch hailing from Woking, Surrey. She grew up with her parents and her elder brother, Christopher, who is five years older. Her parents, Robert and Bethany met through Robert's sister, Denise, who had gone to school with Bethany. Unlike his sister or his wife, Robert was a muggle, which upset Bethany's parents, a side branch of the Avery family. Although they did not disinherit their daughter, Hannah's maternal grandparents made it painfully clear that they strongly disapproved of their daughter's choice of spouse. As a result, Hannah has only seen the Avery side of her family a handful of times.

While her mother never quite learned how to work the VCR and stayed away from computers entirely, Hannah and her brother lived in a happy blend of wizarding and muggle culture. She attended a primary school in the town until she attended Hogwarts.

Hogwarts

Hannah was the first to be sorted in 1991, a slightly terrifying prospect for her. Although she had originally had hoped to be in Gryffindor like her brother, she was sorted into Hufflepuff. While initially disappointed, she was soon making fast friends with her denmates. Later, upon reflection and after seeing the excitement that went on with the Gryffindor's of her year, she was quite happy with her placement. Although close with the girls in her dorm, her closest friends were Ernie Macmillan and Justin Flinch-Fletchley.

While she never specifically sought out attention or trouble, her time at school was decidedly marked with important events. In her second year, one of her best friends, Justin, was petrified, scaring Hannah into believing that Harry Potter might be the heir of Slytherin. When the truth came out, she felt horrible and still does to some degree. In her fifth year she was made prefect with her other best friend, Ernie and joined the DA after realizing Dolorous Umbridge was a complete joke.

Hannah's life completely changed early in her sixth year when her her mother was killed by Death Eaters in her childhood home while her father was away on a business trip. Needlessly to say she was slightly more than a mess, eventually leading her to being withdrawn three weeks later. Then, just after Christmas, her father was killed in an accident on the M1 motorway. Devastated, Hannah moved in with her older brother and his new wife for a while before eventually going to live with her Aunt Denise. It was during that time she learnt how to knit after needing something to keep her hands and mind busy. She quickly fell in love with the craft.

After the Dark Lord took the ministry and ordered all purebloods and half-bloods back to Hogwarts, Hannah returned to her schooling. Needlessly to say, school life under the Death Eaters was brutal and she was eager to join the underground ranks of DA to fight against them, in part to avenge her mother's murder. She participated in the Final Battle, first working under the Weasley Twins defending the passages into the castle before moving into the larger battle.

After Hogwarts

With the end of the battle and thus, the end of her Hogwarts career, like many of her peers, Hannah took some time off to decompress and absorb the curve balls that the last year had thrown her. Taking solstice back with her knitting, her hobby soon led her to a job at Ewe & Me, a wool store, working to feed her wool addiction, it was soon discovered that she had a head for business. In the years she's worked there Hannah's risen from part time shoppe girl to general manager.

She's there most days, knitting happily away for her niece, Maggie. The past year, however, has been a flurry of activity. Not only was another branch of the store opening in New York City's wizarding district, causing Hannah to spend much of the work week in the States and the weekends at home, her brother was going through a messy divorce.
